Mediation (CAMP)

Fifty years ago on a Monday, April 15, 1974, with the support of then Chief Justice Warren Burger, the Second Circuit became the first federal appellate court to initiate a mediation program with the predecessor of the Civil Appeals Mediation Program (CAMP). Inspired by then Chief Judge Irving Kaufman, an appellate mediation program was created and became the first implementation by any court within the Federal System of Rule 33 of the Federal Rules of Appellate Procedure.
