Research and Library Services

The Second Circuit Research Library supports over 200 circuit, district, magistrate, and bankruptcy judges; and over 2,000 court staff within the courts. In addition to serving the federal courts, we provide limited services to other federal agencies, state and local courts, members of the bar, and the public.

The Second Circuit libraries listed on this page are open to attorneys and members of the public who are researching legal issues in relation to a federal lawsuit. We can help locate materials, provide basic instruction for using legal materials, and verify citations. Please read our Policy Guide for full details and call any individual library for more information.
