A filing is known in CM/ECF as a "docketing event."

To file a document in an appeal, start by logging in to the Second Circuit's appellate CM/ECF site.

In CM/ECF, use the Docketing menu on the startup page to start filing a document. Under the Docketing tab is a single option: File a document.

Click on File a Document. A window will open with a menu of filing options.
